Veneers / Bonding

A combination of lifestyle and personal habits can result in teeth showing various blemishes over the years.  There is no need to put up with gaps between your teeth or with teeth that are crooked, badly shaped, worn or stained.  Today a veneer placed on your tooth can correct nature’s mistake or the result of an injury to give you that beautiful smile.

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted in a laboratory from tooth coloured ceramic materials designed to bond to and cover the front of unsightly teeth.  They will significantly improve the appearance of your teeth and smile.  A tooth that is too small or has irregularities can be successfully treated with a veneer.

Veneers are certainly a more conservative treatment than a crown and can often be used as an alternative if the underlying tooth is strong and healthy.

Two or three visits will usually be required to transform your smile.  After extensive discussion with your dentist to address your needs, study models of your teeth are taken and a mock-up is made to ensure your satisfaction prior to any tooth preparation.

Once agreed on the smile design, your teeth are prepared by removing the required amount of tooth structure allowing room for the veneer to be bonded into place on your next visit.

An impression is taken of your prepared teeth and sent to our dental ceramist with instructions of your desires, who specifically manufactures the veneers to fit your teeth.  Temporary veneers, which have already been made using the smile mock-up, are placed for a period of two or three weeks during this manufacturing period.
