Laser
Lasers have become an essential part of offering the highest standards of dental care to patients. Diagnostic lasers can detect small areas of decay that were previously invisible to the naked eye. This has become invaluable when practicing dentistry at this micro-level. Incorporating a pen-like device that emits a completely safe laser, we can measure the density of your tooth structure, ensuring any decay in the grooves of your teeth can be detected far more easily with 90% accuracy.
Lasers are also commonly used in cosmetic treatments. Gum lifting treatment has now been improved through the use of lasers. This procedure involves trimming away the small amounts of excess gum tissue and reshaping the edges of the gums with a laser. The laser simply vaporises and seals the extra gum tissue with no cutting, bleeding or sutures. This procedure was previously only available through the use of scalpels.
Intraoral camera
The intraoral camera is a highly advanced piece of diagnostic equipment that allows you to see what we see inside your mouth on an overhead monitor. This enables us to show and explain in more detail exactly what needs to be done to resolve any dental problem, such as worn or broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings and excessive wear. We find this to be a great educational tool while patients are in the chair.
The intra-oral camera hand piece has a built-in light source, and tiny video camera with 25 times magnification, allowing you to be an active participant in your dental treatment, so you can make treatment decisions with confidence.
In-house entertainment
We house state of the art plasma screens in all surgery rooms and reception which can tune in Television channels, play DVD’s, CD’s and radio. Each treatment room is equipped with headphones for patients to forget what is happening around them and relax while watching their favourite movie or show.
